The Jim Ameche Show

Before Pete Smith, before John Doremus there was Jim Ameche with 'the most beautiful sounds around' . Jim's radio career started with "Jack Armstrong the All America Boy" in the 1930s. When radio changed in the 1950s Jim adapted his career and became one of the first successful syndicated DJs.

  1. Thanks for posting Jim Ameche. I read that name often in old AFN/AFRTS program schedules but I`m never heard him "on the air" (I was born in 1968). Great clip !!!

  2. Glad that you enjoyed it. I found a lot of those on LP a while back. Somewhere someone really liked Jim Ameche, Ira Cook and Joe Allison. Then in 1969, apparently copied them alll to reels. I'd love to know where these were from and what the story about them was.
